Erickson, the Future of Aerospace
Erickson is a leading global provider of American military and civilian aviation services based in Portland, Oregon. The areas they specialize in include defense and national security through air operations and fleet sustainment, aerial firefighting, powerline construction and timber harvesting. Erickson also focuses on manufacturing such as OEM and manufacturing aftermarket capabilities.
Jeffrey Baxter, the Senior Director of Research and Development at Erickson, will be speaking at the Heat and Fire Expo held in the Miami Convention Center on April 21 & 22, 2021. He’ll be explaining his experience of ‘Developing an Optionally-Piloted 40,000 Pound Firefighting Drone’. Baxter holds the responsibilities of researching new products to incorporate into existing aircrafts and evaluating innovative technologies to improve Erickson’s wide array of products.
Baxter has worked in highly accredited companies like SpaceX and Columbia Helicopters and holds extensive knowledge on all aspects of engineering such as creating autonomous flight controls and designing spaceflight hardware. Prior to joining the Erickson team, he accomplished a multitude of difficult projects which include a build of a personal airplane he pilots on a regular basis.
